I love Canada, so all this week is Canadiana week here at Batting A Lash.
I love Cargo cosmetics! One of their best known products is their amazing lip glosses. Available in 4 types, High Intensity, Blu_Ray, Classic Lip Gloss and Lip Gloss Tins.
Lip Gloss Quads (tins)
This is the gloss that made us famous! A favorite of celebs and makeup artists, CARGO’s Award-winning formulation is designed to give you gorgeous shine without any stickiness. Four shades are packaged in CARGO’s iconic signature tin. Use each one separately or mix and match endless combinations of your own. -cargocosmetics.com
I have this both in quads (what is currently available) and duos (past product). I love them both and they are great, a little goes a long way. The Soho Duo I have gets by far the most use. This is a real kit friendly product.
High Intensity
This high-shine, richly pigmented lip gloss is packaged in a convenient dial-up pen with built-in lip brush. It has the shiny glaze of a gloss with the extra punch of lipstick-like pigment. The non-sticky, conditioning formula lasts all day. -cargocosmetics.com
I adore Ecuador in the High Intensity gloss, not only does it have an amazing dark berry shade, it is super pigmented without being overly goopy.
Blu_Ray
This gloss was designed to make lips look their best in high defintion filming. Our unique formula plumps and hydrates lips, filling fine lines and adding a brilliant shine. Lips fuller and incredibly smooth. Timestrip® Technology lets you monitor the freshness of your gloss by letting you know when it’s time to replenish. -cargocosmetics.com
Unfortunately I have yet to try out this gloss but I am eager to try Panama out.
Classic Lip Gloss
Did you know that your gloss, like food, has an expiry date? This award-winning packaging actually lets you monitor the freshness of your gloss! Once the gloss is open and the Timestrip® Technology is activated, the window in the cap changes color over time, allowing you to know when it’s time to replenish. CARGO’s Classic Gloss is our famous non-sticky formula that has become a favorite with consumers and makeup artists alike.-cargocosmetics.com
I have this in both Alexandria and Tobago. I love them both but Alexandria gets more wear being neutral and complementary to any look.
Pros:
- Made in Canada
- Great feeling
- Great Colours
- Available in both tins and tubes in the same great formulas.
Cons:
Overall:
By far one of my most loved items in my collection. I love that I get the same great product in a tin or tube. They are not sticky at all, have cute location names, and have quite the colour pay off. I really love these glosses.

Specifically formulated to help repair, fortify and detangle. Free of parabens, dyes and perfumes for allergic or sensitive scalps.
LaCoupe Fragrance Free Leave-In Conditioner, an intensely hydrating mist with multi-functional properties that fortify and thicken the hair, for supreme textured styling. The alcohol-free formula won't dry out or aggravate the scalp. Hydrolyzed wheat protein and dual performing conditioning and styling polymers instantly revitalize and volumize locks in one easy step. -lacoupe.com
I received this leave in conditioner about a year ago and have been using it off and on ever since. I really love what it does for my hair.
It has an extremely fine mist, which is nice when spraying your hair because you don't end up soaking your hair like with a coarser mist.
Its parabens free which is very nice since I am slowly trying to figure out how to eliminate them from my beauty products.
The fragrance free claim is the only thing that I am not sure about. LaCoupe's site states many facts about fragrances and people who have sensitivities. It even has a Look Good Feel Better logo on it (meaning they will donate to the foundation and that they give this product to people in it), but I personally find it to have a strong fragrance. I don't know if I got a bottle that was mixed up with another leave in of theirs or if this really is the fragrance free product. It isn't too strong of smell but it is quite strong that every time I use it I notice it.
Pros:
- Canadian Made
- Works well
- Fine Mist
- Paraben Free
- Procedes from sales go to Look Good Feel Better
Cons
- Has a potent smell despite being fragrance free
Overall:
I really do like this conditioner, I think I will get more of the organic lines one when I finish it (because of the smell). It has been leaving my hair nice and soft and a little goes a long way

"Show your true colours with the 4SHOW eyeshadows, makeup junkies! Dazzle everyone with 4 new combinations of 4 different shades in one compact. Collect all 4 playful palettes to create a look that pops! These colourful eyeshadows glide on like silk and are crease resistant; they can also be interchanged for a wide array of possibilities!" annabellecosmetics.com
I've been loving Annabelle's 4show Eyeshadow in Tiger-Eye for some time now. I never thought that oranges like this would look good on me and I've never really been drawn to, but since receiving it a few months back I can't stop wearing it. The shades really look great on me and I am loving how well it blends.
They blend amazingly well, are a little bit harder than most shadows (which means less fallout) and all four shades look great together.
There is a great highlighting shade, two orange shades and an almost black shade with small glitter in it which I love to use a liner.
Pros:
- Blends well
- 4 great shades that look good toghther
- not too soft of shadow, so it wont break when traveling
- wet or dry usage
- inexpensive
Cons:
I really like this quad, I am tempted to buy some of the other ones in the collection. They blend very well and look amazing, go buy one, now.

Today I am doing a much delayed FOTD featuring Annabelle's 4Show Quad in Tiger-Eye. I've had a bit of a challenge getting the shadows to photograph well on me (I blame my camera).
It is a hot day here in Toronto so I refuse to use a hair dryer, that is why my hair is wet. As well I skip the foundation for that same reason, it would just melt right off me today (I mean I am already sweating quite a bit in this pic so it just isn't happening).
What I used:
- Annabelle leGloss in Liquid Honey
- 4Show Eyeshadow in Tiger-Eye
- Marcelle Power Volume Mascara in Black
- Annabelle Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe

nude look using only Joe Fresh products.
What I used (all Joe Fresh):
- Cream lipstick in Bare
- Waterproof Mascara in Black
- Cream Eyeshadow in Sugar
- Eyeshadow in Honeybell (not shown)
- Brow Powder in Auburn
- Powder Blush in Buff
- Fine Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Brown
Hope you like it, I did. I really am not a nude person but this really looked great on me. It is good to try something new.

I recently won a big bag of Joe Fresh makeup (see it
here), I received my fist Joe Fresh Cream lipstick so I thought I would do a little swatch and review.
First off it comes in a clear but sturdy tube (where as their mattes come in a white tube). The finish is quite creamy and slightly shinny (but not obnoxiously shinny). It goes on opaque and feels really nice on the lips.
This is an incredibly nude shade on me. I must say I doubt I would have ever purchased it on my own, but I really do like it.
Below is a nude look I created using only Joe Fresh products.

Canada
So I removed my feather hair extensions a long time ago. I wore them, loved them, others loved them, you loved them (it seems to keep on getting views so you must)...but sadly they had to be taken out for an MRI.
I honestly was happy with their time in my hair and just never put them back in.
But a month or so ago I accidentally on purpose died my hair black (yep both accidentally and on purpose). Now my roots are coming in and honestly I've in all my 20 years of dying my hair never had such issues matching up my roots. So I've given up and just for fun and added colour...the feathers are back. Just the natural ones this time, but they are in my hair.
Recently
Textstyles celebrated its 3rd anniversary and
Joe Fresh its 5th. In honour of this they had a contest and guess who one. Why yes, it was me.
The prize was suppoed to have
3 nail polishes ($10.00 value)
2 pop glosses ($20.00 value)
1 cream lipstick ($6.00 value)
1 cream eyeshadow ($6.00 value)
1 powder eyeshadow ($4.00 value)
2 powder blushes ($6.00 value)
and a $50 Joe Fresh Gift Card

Totally awesome, right? Well, I got one extra pop gloss and a waterproof mascara and it showed up within hours of me giving them my contact info.
